Terms of Service

By downloading or using the Deadzone application ("App"), you agree to be bound by these Terms of Service ("Terms"). If you do not agree to these Terms, do not install or use the App. These Terms apply to all users of Deadzone, including users of the free tier and Deadzone Pro subscribers.

Deadzone is an offline, on-device AI assistant designed to provide survival information and guidance. The App uses local AI models (Llama, Qwen, or Apple Intelligence) to generate responses to your queries about wilderness survival, first aid, navigation, foraging, and emergency preparedness. The App operates entirely on your device and does not require an internet connection to function once AI models are downloaded.

IMPORTANT: Deadzone is an informational tool only. The information provided by the App is NOT a substitute for professional medical advice, emergency services, or trained survival instruction. In any life-threatening emergency, always attempt to contact emergency services (911 in the US) before relying on the App. The App is designed to assist when professional help is unavailable — not to replace it. We make no warranties that the AI-generated content is accurate, complete, current, or appropriate for your specific situation. Survival scenarios are highly context-dependent, and information that applies in one situation may be dangerous in another. BY USING THE APP, YOU ACKNOWLEDGE THAT YOU ASSUME ALL RISKS ASSOCIATED WITH RELYING ON AI-GENERATED SURVIVAL INFORMATION.

Deadzone offers a free tier and a premium subscription ("Deadzone Pro"). Subscriptions are billed through the Apple App Store and governed by Apple's terms and conditions. Subscription fees are charged to your Apple ID account at confirmation of purchase. Subscriptions automatically renew unless cancelled at least 24 hours before the end of the current billing period. You can manage and cancel subscriptions through your Apple ID account settings. We do not offer refunds outside of Apple's standard refund policy. For refund requests, please use Apple's standard process at reportaproblem.apple.com.

You agree to use Deadzone only for lawful purposes and in accordance with these Terms. You agree not to: • Use the App for any unlawful purpose or in violation of any applicable laws • Attempt to reverse engineer, decompile, or extract the AI models distributed with or downloaded by the App • Redistribute, resell, or sublicense access to the App or its content • Use the App in any manner that could damage, disable, or impair the App • Attempt to gain unauthorized access to any portion of the App The App is intended for personal, non-commercial use.

Content generated by the App's AI models is produced automatically and may not always be accurate, safe, or appropriate for your specific circumstances. AI models can make mistakes, hallucinate incorrect information, or provide guidance that is unsafe in your particular environment or medical condition. You are solely responsible for evaluating the information provided by the App before acting on it. Deadzone and its developers expressly disclaim any liability for harm arising from reliance on AI-generated content.

The Deadzone app, including its design, source code, branding, and original content, is the property of Deadzone's developers and is protected by applicable intellectual property laws. The AI models available for download within the App (Llama 3.2, Qwen 2.5, Qwen 3) are open-weight models subject to their own respective licenses (Meta's Llama Community License, Qwen License). Deadzone does not claim ownership over these model weights. Apple Intelligence functionality is provided by Apple Inc. and is subject to Apple's terms and licenses.

THE APP IS PROVIDED "AS IS" AND "AS AVAILABLE" WITHOUT WARRANTIES OF ANY KIND, EITHER EXPRESS OR IMPLIED, INCLUDING BUT NOT LIMITED TO WARRANTIES OF MERCHANTABILITY, FITNESS FOR A PARTICULAR PURPOSE, AND NON-INFRINGEMENT. We do not warrant that the App will be uninterrupted, error-free, or free of harmful components. We do not warrant the accuracy, completeness, or usefulness of any information provided by the App.

TO THE MAXIMUM EXTENT PERMITTED BY APPLICABLE LAW, IN NO EVENT SHALL DEADZONE'S DEVELOPERS BE LIABLE FOR ANY INDIRECT, INCIDENTAL, SPECIAL, EXEMPLARY, OR CONSEQUENTIAL DAMAGES, INCLUDING BUT NOT LIMITED TO PERSONAL INJURY, PROPERTY DAMAGE, LOSS OF DATA, OR LOSS OF LIFE ARISING OUT OF OR RELATED TO YOUR USE OF THE APP OR RELIANCE ON AI-GENERATED CONTENT. THIS LIMITATION APPLIES REGARDLESS OF THE LEGAL THEORY UNDER WHICH DAMAGES ARE SOUGHT AND EVEN IF DEADZONE HAS BEEN ADVISED OF THE POSSIBILITY OF SUCH DAMAGES. IN JURISDICTIONS THAT DO NOT ALLOW THE EXCLUSION OR LIMITATION OF INCIDENTAL OR CONSEQUENTIAL DAMAGES, OUR LIABILITY IS LIMITED TO THE MAXIMUM EXTENT PERMITTED BY LAW.

We reserve the right to modify these Terms at any time. We will notify users of material changes by updating the "Last Updated" date at the top of this page. Your continued use of the App after changes constitutes your acceptance of the revised Terms. If you do not agree to the revised Terms, you should stop using the App.

These Terms shall be governed by and construed in accordance with the laws of the United States, without regard to its conflict of law provisions. Any disputes arising from these Terms or your use of the App shall be resolved through binding arbitration in accordance with applicable arbitration rules.
